Below Deck’s Gary King Axed From BravoCon After Allegations

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Gary King has been removed from the lineup for this year’s BravoCon fan convention in Las Vegas.

Ahead of the November event, which Gary was previously confirmed to be a part of, rumors are swirling that Bravo booted Gary due to the claims of sexual assault made against him by one of the show’s makeup artists in August.

“Was Gary removed from Bravocon 2023?” a Reddit user asked in a Below Deck Sailing Yacht thread on September 23.

During an interview with Rolling Stone in August, Samantha Suarez, 27, said Gary “came up behind her, grabbed her, pressed her against his body and refused to let go of her” as she tried to “kick and elbow him to get him off her” in her hotel room amid filming on season four in summer 2022.

And at the same time, another crew member from the series said Gary was “next-level scary with women.”

“It was insane,” they stated. “There were multiple incidents of sexual harassment in front of multiple producers after this person had been given verbal warnings multiple times.”

But in response to Samantha’s allegations against him, Gary agreed with an Instagram user who wondered if she was “lying” and added to another, “I have never sexually harassed someone in my life, and I will never.”

Bravo also weighed in on the matter itself.

“Bravo is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace for cast and crew on our reality shows. We require our third-party production companies to have appropriate workplace policies and trainings in place and a clear process on how to report concerns,” the network shared in a statement to Page Six. “The concerns Ms. Suarez raised in July 2022 were investigated at that time, and action was taken based on the findings.”

Although Bravo hasn’t yet spoke out about Gary’s removal from the BravoCon lineup, a number of Reddit users have shared their thoughts.

“He’s gone! [Daisy Kelliher] and [Colin Macrae] will both be there though,” one person noted.

“Ohh interesting I checked like 2 days ago and he was still there,” said another.

“That’s good, I hope they’ve removed him — he’s a sexual predator and creates a hostile work place and is a sexual harasser,” a third alleged.

Meanwhile, a fourth person wanted to know the reason behind Gary’s deparature.

“I’d love to know if they removed him, he removed himself, or if they’ve just taken him off the advertising,” they wrote. “I know Colin posted a picture of something there that he, Gary and Daisy were all meant to be doing together, and Gary wasn’t listed anymore.”
