During the season 17 reunion finale, the RHOC cast questioned Shannon Beador’s drinking amid her tumultuous relationship with ex John Janssen.
Shannon Beador‘s RHOC co-stars weren’t afraid to call out her drinking just ten days before her arrest for DUI and hit-and-run. Shannon was arrested for DUI on Saturday, September 16, in Newport Beach, California, after she drove her car into a residential property and “clipped the house.”
The subject of Shannon’s drinking was breached during part two of the RHOC season 17 reunion on Wednesday when Heather Dubrow questioned whether or not Shannon truly believes she schemes in a “Machiavellian” way.
The 59-year-old admitted that she did, which is when Heather told her: “Don’t get angry with me. You tend to drink and call some of us.”
“That’s a f—ed up thing to say to me, but okay,” Shannon responded. Yet, Heather insisted, “It’s not. You’re the town crier!”
“Do I go out and drink sometimes?” Shannon asked. “For you to say I need rehab, for you to paint a picture so that I’m calling people every single night…”
Shannon then turned her anger towards Emily Simpson, who previously said Shannon should install a breathalyzer on her phone.
“For you to say I can breathalyze,” she quipped, to which Emily interjected, “You should! I think it’s a good invention. I think you should put it on your phone.”
Then, directing her attention back to Heather, she said: “You say it’s my truth serum when I haven’t had an intimate conversation.”
“You don’t want to look at that at all, though, Shannon. You don’t want to look at it all,” Gina Kirschenheiter noted.
“You don’t know anything about my personal, in-depth life,” Shannon fired back.
The mother of three then revealed the root of her issue with the 39-year-old OC Housewife: “From the beginning of you starting the show, you said in your first season when I was going through my acrimonious divorce, I masked with alcohol. And I said, ‘Did I drink more this season?’ Abso-freaking-lutely, I did.”
“Our job is to say how we feel and say the truth about what’s going on,” Gina argued.
“You know what my job is? My job is to be Shannon Storms Beador, so I’m not gonna look at this and go, ‘Well, I’m on a reality show, so I’m gonna act differently.’ I act the way I am,” Shannon clapped back.
Meanwhile, Shannon also opened up about her tumultuous relationship with ex John Janssen on Wednesday’s reunion.
“We argued because what would happen is he would leave, and he would ghost me, and I wouldn’t speak to him for days, and it would be paralyzing to me because I have never been more in love with anyone in my life than I have with John Janssen. And he said I’m ready to take the next step with you,” Shannon said in tears.
When Andy Cohen questioned why John would talk about his and Shannon’s plans for the future on camera and then break up with her a short time later.
Gina explained that John “was trying to get through filming so that he didn’t look bad.”
“He said it on camera, and a week later, he broke up with me,” Shannon revealed.
“He broke my f—ing heart, and can I look back at certain scenes, and you can see that he’s checked out? Absolutely I can,” she continued, “But I’m, like, embarrassed. I feel like I’m a smart person that has a semi-decent head on their shoulder, and it’s like, ‘My God, look at how he’s looking at you,’ or ‘Did you not see it then?’”
The RHOC cast encouraged Shannon to “cut ties” with John for good. However, Shannon admitted that she and John are still “sometimes” friends with benefits.
RHOC will return for season 18 in 2024.
