Monica Garcia’s mom, Linda, slams her on Twitter, claiming the RHOSLC newbie “did me dirty” after she “begged me to do the show.”
It’s pretty obvious that Monica Garcia and her mom, Linda, aka LD, have quite a complicated relationship. The ugliness of their relationship came out on this week’s episode of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
During Angie Katsanevas‘ Greek Easter event, Monica and Angie got into a confrontation when Linda stepped in to shut it down before it got out of hand.
Monica Garcia told her mom, “Don’t f—king pull this sh-t with me when you don’t have my back,” before admitting that she felt “betrayed” that her mom took Angie’s side.
Following Tuesday’s episode of RHOSLC, Linda took to Twitter and blasted Monica’s behavior towards her.
Linda revealed:
“Monica begged me to do this reality show with her. Begged. I didn’t want to do it. She told me all I had to do was cook and speak Portuguese. How did she return the favor? She did me dirty.
Meanwhile, I would never compete with my only child–unless it’s sports. I’m too smart to try to go up against Monica; she’d chew me up and spit me out.”
She concluded: “Lastly, I never abandoned her. I always put her needs above my own, even in her adulthood. I’m not a perfect human, but I *am* a devoted mother and Vóvó. God bless us, everyone.”
Meanwhile, Monica spoke to Us Weekly about her relationship with her mother, admitting that they are not on good terms.
“My mother and I are not OK right now, still,” Monica admitted.
The RHOSLC newbie admitted she “bawled” her eyes out after watching their fight play out on the show.
“I know I’m involved in what we’re watching, but it felt like one of the most emotional things I’ve ever seen on Housewives,” Monica said. “It was so real and so raw. That day in and of itself was so heavy.”
Monica believes that her mom should have stayed out of the drama instead of inserting herself and choosing Angie K’s side.
“I felt like she absolutely sided with them. It was more important for her to have fun and dance and talk to the men and, you know, whatever than it was to handle what was going on with us,” she said. “Yeah, I felt absolutely betrayed.”
On top of that, Monica notes that her dynamic with her mom resembles a sibling relationship. She also teases that her relationship with her mom will continue to unravel as season 4 plays out.
“I think that’s the problem in our relationship is that there’s not a mother-daughter relationship,” she stated. “It’s like a sister relationship.”
“[The Easter party] kind of catapults everything, for sure, but you’ll see it play out,” Monica added. “It gets worse.”
As for whether or not she has any plans to mend fences with her mom, Monica said: “At this point in time, no, I don’t.”
