Quentin Tarantino has been pictured posing with Israeli troops during what appears to have been a recent visit to an army base in southern Israel, according to the country’s official social media accounts.
Israel War Room, an official account verified on Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, shared an image of Tarantino with the caption: “#BREAKING: Legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino visits an Israeli base in southern Israel to boost IDF morale.” The images of soldiers next to the filmmaker have been blurred out.

Following Israel War Room’s initial post, Stand With Us, a nonprofit Israeli education organization founded in 2001, posted a picture to Instagram that appeared to show the Inglourious Basterds filmmaker walking the streets of Israel and posing for a photo with a young Israeli fan. The Instagram post was shared along with a lengthy caption.
“A bright moment during a dark time: Legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino showed his solidarity with the Israeli people by making a surprise visit to southern Israel, which has been completely devastated by Hamas’ ongoing terror war,” the post said. “There, he toured military bases and mingled with soldiers and residents, igniting a social media frenzy of selfies and videos. What a beautiful way to show support.”
A video from an unverified TikTok account appeared to show Tarantino meeting the same young Israeli fan.
Tarantino has spoken publicly in the past about now living between Israel and Los Angeles following his marriage to Israeli singer Daniella Pick. The filmmaker’s visit to the army base comes as the conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas continues to devastate the local region.
U.S. President Joe Biden visited Israel on Wednesday morning as tensions ratchet up further following a deadly strike on Gaza’s Al Ahli hospital overnight in which hundreds of Palestinians were killed.
Quentin Tarantino’s representatives did not immediately respond to Deadline’s request for comment on the matter.
