Emerging artist 2Spade steps into the limelight with his debut EP, Shadow, a fresh collection of bass-heavy tracks released under SM Entertainment’s ScreaM Records.

This latest EP release finds ScreaM Records continuing to venture into dance music by supporting rising Asian EDM artists like 2Spade, in addition to recent releases of K-Pop stars such as aespa and NCT 127 featuring remixes from the likes of Habstrakt, Nitepunk, ZHU and Valentino Khan.

Spanning a number of genres and styles, Shadow is a musical odyssey chronicling 2Spade’s transformation into the artist he is today. The narrative unfolds through six tracks, each representing a pivotal chapter in his journey. It follows a successful year of collaborations with beloved electronic labels such as Sable Valley, Dim Mak and Circus Records as well as support from Flosstradamus, DJ Diesel, Pauline Herr, Montell2099 and many more.

Kicking off by interpolating his own bars in “Ready to Die,” 2Spade’s hip-hop roots merge seamlessly with bass and trap influences to set the tone for the EP. He continues with “Kill Spree,” an energetic and gritty trap anthem, before the project’s lead single, “Fearless,” showcases its festival-ready energy.

2Spade follows with the trapped-out “HOTPOT” before “NO $AFE ZONE” infuses his distinctive bass sound with the grooves of baile funk and grit of phonk for a bona fide standout. The EP concludes with “Feeling Right,” a track that showcases his take on the minimalism of old-school trap.

“For my debut EP Shadow, I really wanted to truly express my story and how I think about music as one cohesive project,” 2Spade explained. “Going through the EP process inspired a lot of self-reflection of who I am as a person, and each of these tracks represents a different chapter of my life. I hope listening to the EP inspires people to gain confidence in life in their own journeys of self-discovery.”

Take a listen to Shadow and check out the official music video for “사생결단 (Ready to Die)” below. You can also find the new EP on streaming platforms here.
