Let’s go! Sony Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which is officially titled Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. The trailer offers our first look at what’s in store for the next chapter of the Ghostbusters story and it looks like fans are in for another exciting and chilling supernatural adventure! It looks like fun!
In the story, New York City finds itself freezing over due to an ancient artifact that unleashes an evil force! Also, the original Ghostbusters return! Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson are all back for the new adventure! The synopsis reads:
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer and executive producer Gil Kenan is directing the sequel, with Afterlife director and co-writer Jason Reitman serving as writer and executive producer. The movie also stars Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, comedian James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind have joined the cast! They join returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace.
The film is scheduled to be released on March 29th, 2024.
