Don’t Expect To See Much of Daredevil in Marvel’s ECHO Series — GeekTyrant

As Marvel’s Echo series was in development, it was revealed that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio would be reprising their roles as Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, and Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, in the series. Some fans assumed that Daredevil would have a decent-sized role in the series, especially with Kingpin being one of the main characters. But, it doesn’t sound like that’s the case at all.

A new report from insider CWGST, it’s explained: “This should go without saying, but do NOT expect to see a lot of Daredevil in ‘ECHO’. Daredevil’s role is nothing more than a cameo to show him and Kingpin were active in the background of the MCU. Make no mistake, this is Maya’s show.”

In a previous report, it was said that Daredevil would appear in Echo for three episodes, and he also talked about Daredevil and Kingpin’s appearances in the show, saying: “Daredevil is in it for three episodes, as in Charlie Cox. Kingpin, Vinnie D’Onofrio is in four. The Kingpin storyline is building up to him running for mayor of New York City. Apparently, he’s going to be wearing an eye patch because he was shot in the head in Hawkeye… Daredevil is also going to be rocking a red and black suit and is looking for Jessica Jones.”

Daredevil may have been in the series more, but his involvement may have been cut over the course of the editing process as the creative team was tightening up the story. As for Jessica Jones’ involvement in the series, her appearance was reportedly scrapped.

The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy. The series also centers on Lopez as she “struggles to reconnect with her Native American roots while balancing aspirations tied to a life of crime as successor to the brutal legacy of Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.”

All five episodes will drop on Disney+ and Hulu on April 9th, 2024. You can check out the updates below:
