The Real Housewives of Atlanta is reportedly about to undergo a transformation as the cast gets shaken up ahead of Season 16.
Kandi Burruss, a mainstay on the Bravo reality series since Season 2, is now the longest-running housewife across all franchises. The media mogul is weighing in on the reported cast shakeup and says she’s open to having Nene Leakes return to the show.
“I forget about that sometimes,” Burruss told Access Hollywood about being the longest-running housewife on Bravo. “I’ve been on 14 seasons of The Real Housewives, so yeah, that does make me the longest-running housewife of all the franchises.”
Burruss says that RHOA producers don’t tell her anything about rumored casting changes for the new season.
“They are definitely shaking things up,” Burruss confirms. “They haven’t said who they are bringing back from the current cast. There are so many rumors [about] a couple of previous cast [members] coming back as well as newbies. I believe there’s truth to all of that.”
As far as Burruss’ dream RHOA cast, the Broadway producer mentioned Porsha Williams and said she “would like to see Nene come back,” adding, “We don’t necessarily get along all the time but I think she’s good TV.” Burruss also mentioned Kenya Moore, Eva Marcille and Cynthia Bailey “to balance out all that energy” within the cast.
From the most current RHOA cast, Burruss didn’t mention Marlo Hampton, Drew Sidora, Sanya Richards-Ross and Shereé Whitfield.
Leakes left RHOA after Season 12 amid a contract dispute that failed to secure her peach for Season 13. The reality TV personality would sue Bravo for creating a toxic environment but would end up dropping the suit later on.
Earlier this year, Leakes said she had no hard feelings against executive producer Andy Cohen and was open to returning to RHOA. Leakes recently stirred up social media by sharing photos of her hanging out with stars of The Real Housewives of Dubai and her former RHOA co-stars Williams and Bailey.
