Waka Flocka Flame has made a major step in the grieving process over his late friend and collaborator Slim Dunkin.

On Sunday (December 17), the “O Let’s Do It” rapper posted a video on his Instagram Stories documenting his very first visit to the former 1017 Brick Squad rapper’s grave.

In the clip, Flocka can be seen pouring out some liquor over the gravestone in honor of his deceased friend.

“Candy loving ass boi. Long live Dunkin. Lol,” he captioned the video. “Took me 12 years to do this [tear emoji]. [Long Live] Dunk.”

A childhood friend of Waka, Slim Dunkin (real name Mario Hamilton) was shot and killed in December 2011 following an argument at an Atlanta recording studio during a music video shoot.

Witnesses said that the fight that ultimately led to Dunkin’s death began over a piece of candy.

Vinson Hardimon, also known as rapper Young Vito, was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony over the fatal incident.

He was found not guilty on the murder charge, but was convicted of the other charges. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison before his sentence was overturned in 2014.

Waka Flocka Flame initially reacted to Slim Dunkin’s death on Twitter (now X), writing: “Wish it was me… my fucking right hand is gone. Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

He later said in an interview with MTV News: “You know that shit is gonna carry with me, though, because he’s me and I’m him. Together we’re Brick Squad, man. That boy there was special. That boy there was different.”
