Nashawn Breedlove’s cause of death has been revealed. According to the New Jersey’s Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner the 8 Mile star died of acute intoxication from fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol. His death was ruled an accident.
As we previously reported, a family member told TMZ that the actor died in his sleep on September 24. He was only 46-years-old.

Breedlove’s mother Patricia comfirmed the news on her Facebook, writing, “Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. No one could deny his talent. “Nashawn’s departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express. I can’t put into words the pain and hurt that I feel,” she continued. “He was not just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path.”
Released in 2002, 8 Mile is a critically acclaimed drama film directed by Curtis Hanson and starring the iconic rapper Eminem.
