After a heated exchange between Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Kimmel, ESPN finds itself in damage control. Rodgers, a regular guest on the network, made baseless insinuations about Kimmel’s alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

ESPN swiftly condemned Rodgers’ comments and publicly apologized for any harm caused. The network emphasized that Rodgers’ views did not reflect its stance and distanced itself from the controversy. ESPN reiterated its commitment to maintaining a respectful and responsible environment for all its employees and guests.
“Aaron made a dumb and factually inaccurate joke about Jimmy Kimmel. It should never have happened. We all realized that in the moment,” the network said in a statement, according to the New York Post. Pat McAfee, who works for ABC under the same parent company as ESPN, attempted to downplay Rodgers’ comments during a subsequent episode of his show. McAfee suggested that the remarks were made in a long-standing feud between Rodgers and Kimmel, implying that they were meant as a joke. However, the controversy surrounding the allegations made it clear that the situation was far from humorous.

“There is no scheduled conversations, there is no scheduled debates, there is no topics for you to think about before you get in there.
“There is just an opportunity to talk about damn near everything for three and a half hours and in doing so … good times can be had, laughter can be had … and on the flip side, there can be things that are certainly, probably — we’re going to have to hear from Aaron on that — meant to be s–t talk joke that can then become something that is obviously a very serious allegation that then leads to a massive overnight story.”
Responding to Rodgers’ allegations, Kimmel used social media to denounce the claims and threaten legal action. In a strongly-worded message, Kimmel categorically denied any association with Epstein and criticized Rodgers for endangering his family with baseless accusations.
“Dear ————-: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality,” Kimmel posted. “Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up, and we will debate the facts further in court. @AaronRodgers12.”
A follow up statement from Rodgers was not released amid the controversy.
