A dream collaboration between John Summit and Of The Trees is in the works, Summit today revealed in a post shared on X.

The charismatic Summit is, of course, one of today’s leading house music artists. Meanwhile, Of The Trees rose to the upper echelon of bass music in 2023 as he experienced a breakout year that saw his first headlining tour.

The two will now bridge the gap of the disparate genres in an unexpected collaboration, which came about in a thread started by Summit. The Chicago-born producer took to X to remark on the vicissitudes of artists’ setlists relative to their circumstances, noting that fans may experience something new on any given night.

“imma always switch it up when the time calls for it,” Of The Trees wrote. “for me it’s never been about constantly showcasing my entire discography at every single show. i’ll play my biggest tunes as much as i can but… I love DJing as an art form on its own and i’ll always play whatever feels right for each show/setting.”

“i’m still mindblown from ur sunrise shambs set and why ur one of my fav artists and why im making music w u,” Summit replied.

Summit often collaborates and DJs alongside bass music producers, like dubstep superstar Subtronics, with whom he performed a show-stopping set at last year’s EDC Las Vegas festival.

Summit also recently revealed he’s recording his debut album. In addition to a follow-up to 2023’s global dance hit “Where You Are,” the album will likely feature bass music considering his transparent appreciation for the genre.

Neither Summit nor Of The Trees have formerly announced a collaboration or release date at the time of writing.
