Netflix’s ‘Frankenstein’ Trailer Has Fans All Saying the Same Thing

Directed by Paul Feig and based on the 2013 namesake fairytale fantasy novel, the first entry in the series of books of the same name by Soman Chainani, The School for Good and Evil revolves around two best friends, Sophie and Agatha, who are transported to the eponymous school to become students representing opposite sides, and that inevitably strains that friendship. The film premiered on October 18, 2022, before debuting on Netflix a day later. If you are wondering whether there will be a The School for Good and Evil sequel, this is what we have discovered.

Here’s all The School for Good and Evil 2 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.

Is there a The School for Good and Evil 2 release date?

The School for Good and Evil 2 does not have an official release date, but it might be announced in the future.

As of early January 2024, The School for Good and Evil 2 hasn’t been officially announced. Chainani’s book series has six entries (two trilogies: The School Years and The Camelot Years) in total, and there is also a prequel series. So, there is definitely a narrative scope for future movies.

In October 2022, director Paul Feig revealed his plans to build a franchise from the first film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “The goal is definitely for this to be a franchise,” the filmmaker explained. “That’s the plan going forward, just take all the material of these books, and hopefully make a franchise out of it. We love the characters, love the world. The books are super fun and very dense.”

Speaking to Variety in the same month, Chainani reflected on the future of the budding franchise. “The hope is to make more [movies], it just depends on the audience,” he said. “We could make all six movies, so it just depends on how it how it does, ultimately.”

The School for Good and Evil garnered a 37% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the response of the general audience, especially those who have read the books, was largely mixed. However, the film did really well in terms of viewership numbers for Netflix, so the chances of The School for Good and Evil 2 can’t be ruled out.

The cast includes Sophia Anne Caruso as Sophie, Sofia Wylie as Agatha, Kit Young as Rafal/Rhian, Michelle Yeoh as Prof. Emma Anemone, Jamie Flatters as Tedros, Laurence Fishburne as School Master Rhian, Peter Serafinowicz as Yuba, Rob Delaney as Stefan, Mark Heap as Professor Bilious Manley, Patti LuPone as Mrs. Deauville, Rachel Bloom as Honora, and more.

Where is The School for Good and Evil 2 coming out?

The School for Good and Evil 2 could come out on Netflix.

This is because the first film was developed for the same platform. ComingSoon will provide an update if and when the sequel is officially greenlit.

The official synopsis for The School for Good and Evil reads:

“Best friends Sophie and Agatha navigate an enchanted school for young heroes and villains — and find themselves on opposing sides of the battle between good and evil.”
