The most common storyline of Korean dramas consists of romance, and when it adds the office factor, the plot becomes more interesting. Some of the best office romance K-dramas include Business Proposal, King the Land, and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.

All three aforementioned dramas’ main storyline revolves around the love story between two colleagues at the workplace. The stories also include suspense and comedy factors that keep viewers engaged till the very end.

Let’s explore a few of the best office romance K-dramas here:

Business Proposal

Business Proposal is a 2021 K-drama, starring Ahn Hyo-Seop as Kang Tae-Moo and Kim Sejeong as Shin Ha-Ri. It is one of the popular and best office romance K-dramas, available on Netflix. It tells the story of Ha-Ri, who goes on a blind date in place of her best friend to get rid of the potential suitor. The twist in the tale is the suitor turns out to be her workplace’s CEO, Tae-Moo.

While she tries her best to scare him away, he seems to take an interest and proposes an offer to be his fiancé. She transforms her look every time she meets him outside the office, assuming Tae-Moo cannot recognize his employee. The storyline further takes a romantic turn with an additional childhood trauma concept.

King the Land

King the Land is another workplace romance K-drama that turned out to be a hit last year. Lee Jun-Ho as Gu Won and Im Yoon-Ah as Cheon Sa-Rang won hearts with their on-screen chemistry. The series revolves around the grumpy heir of a hotel business Gu Won and his employee Sa-Rang.

He hates people with fake smiles while Sa-Rang garners accolades at her workplace for her smile. When she begins to work under him, the two dislike each other. Slowly, they grow closer and fall in love. The lead characters initially try to hide their relationship at the hotel. King the Land also deals with inheritance drama.

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (2018) is one of the hit office romance K-dramas. Beginners in the Korean entertainment world are advised to start with Park Seo-Joon and Park Min-Young’s gem project.

It is the story of an egoist and self-centered corporate executive Lee Young-Joon and his secretary Kim Mi-So. When she suddenly decides to resign, Young-Joon does everything in his power to stop her. He even proposes to date her, however, falls in love with her at the end. The storyline also includes a traumatic past connection between the two.

Strong Girl Bong-Soon

Strong Girl Bong-Soon is a 2017 K-drama with a similar CEO and employee love story. Starring Park Bo-Young as Do Bong-Soon and Park Hyung-Sik as An Min-Hyuk, the series is a story of a woman with superhuman powers helping a CEO.

Min-Hyuk’s heart flutters when he witnesses Bo-Young beating up a gang of thugs. She inherits superhuman powers from her mother’s side. Hence, Min-Hyuk hires her as his bodyguard as someone keeps attacking him. While working together, he also pursues her. The K-drama has a beautiful plot, which makes it worth watching.

The franchise recently released its sequel, Strong Girl Nam-Soon. Both the shows are available on Netflix.

Suspicious Partner

Suspicious Partner is a 2017 drama, starring Ji Chang-Wook as senior prosecutor Noh Ji-Wook and Nam Ju-Hyun as his trainee Eun Bong-Hee. They work together to find a serial killer but things take a complicated turn when she becomes a suspect. While working on the case, the lead characters also uncover their past connections. The series consists of suspense, romance, and comedy.

The Korean entertainment industry has a long list of best office romance K-dramas. Apart from the aforementioned shows, a few more include Rowoon’s She Would Never Know, Song Joong-Ki’s Vincenzo, Song Kang’s Forecasting Love and Weather, and Park Min-Young’s Her Private Life. All the K-dramas are available on Netflix.
