Terry Dubrow is one of the most famous TV plastic surgeons thanks to several years on the hit show Botched. This means he has seen it all when it comes to the medical industry and how people want to look.
Of course, this also means that it’s important to stay abreast of what’s going on regarding weight loss. As a result, Dr. Terry, who happens to be married to Heather Dubrow from RHOC, tried Ozempic.
As many people know, Ozempic is a major trend in Hollywood for people to lose weight. The drug is technically designed to help treat Type 2 Diabetes. However, people have found that it also works for dropping the pounds. The problem is that there is a shortage, which has left many diabetics unable to find the drug.
According to Page Six, Dr. Terry wanted to try it because so many of his clients were using it.
He had this to say, “I’ve tried it. I thought it was amazing. I … didn’t have that much weight to lose, but I wanted to try it because so many of my patients were on it, and I wanted to see what it was like when you’re not diabetic and you only have 10-15 pounds to lose.”
The famed doctor said that he did have some side effects. For him, “low-grade nausea” was one. However, he is a big fan of Ozempic.
He praised the drug by saying, “I think it’s a miracle. The biggest breakthrough in medical history.”
However, Dr. Terry wanted to eat again, so he stopped taking it.
“I thought, ‘You know what, I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming. I want to enjoy myself.’”
He continued, “You go on vacation, maybe you don’t exercise, you eat too much. It was kind of like, ‘Well, I want to go on a food vacation,’ meaning I want to be able to eat again.”
He says the drug “really took … all the joy of eating away.”
He also warned anyone who takes Ozempic or plans to take it to stay away from alcohol as it can have dire medical consequences. Additionally, he and his partner have seen an uptick in clients wanting excess skin removed due to losing muscle as a result of the drug.
