Out now on Hood Politics Records, the new collaboration samples DJ Felli Fel’s “Get Buck in Here,” which features Diddy, Akon, Ludacris and Lil Jon. Reworking the 2007 crunk classic with a modern tech house bite, “Get Crunk” is for house-heads who appreciate dancefloor alchemy with tinctures of nostalgia.
Don’t expect melodic breakdowns or soulful bridges here. Akon’s ageless vocal from “Get Buck in Here” gets warped into a full-blooded loop, riding thick kicks like a souped-up Chevy on hydraulics. Every snare crack is a guzzle of Crunk Juice and the bassline throbs with unfiltered club energy.
A floor-filler through and through, “Get Buck” is built more for sweaty underground raves than MTV spring break. And as the 2024 return of Miami Music Week lurks—a place where Susan has long-thrived—the track is primed for a big moment under the sun.
