Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan reportedly called it quits due to their differing views about their futures.
According to a new report, the Real Housewives of Miami couple’s 16-year age gap was a “major factor” in their decision to end their relationship after about a year and a half of dating, especially because Marcus, 33, wants to have children and Larsa, 49, who already shares four children with ex-husband Scottie Pippen, 58, does not.
“They were in love with each other, but once the honeymoon phase ended, they started to realize their priorities differed,” an insider told the Daily Mail on February 13. “Their age difference played a major factor in the split, and on top of the fact that Marcus wants to have kids while she wants to be more of a celebrity.”
“They both had different ideas of what their family was going to be like and that built lots of stress. They are just on different roads, but they are both to blame for not being together – even though they are blaming each other for the demise,” the insider continued.
While Larsa and Marcus were further challenged by Marcus’ father Michael Jordan, 60, not being supportive of their relationship, the source said a reunion is still “absolutely” possible.
“But right now, it is very touch and go and they don’t see eye to eye about much,” they noted. “They need to get back to where they originally started with each other and then it could work, this could be a good test to be away.”
Prior to their split, Larsa and Marcus opened up about their thoughts on children during an episode of their shared Separation Anxiety podcast.
“I feel like I’m happy, because I have four kids, and I feel like you don’t have kids, so basically it’d be a question for you. Because I’m really fulfilled with my four children,” Larsa noted.
Meanwhile, at the time, Marcus said his business was his “baby.”
“I think that’s something that goes unsaid with dating, and when there’s an age gap,” Marcus noted. “Like if the man is older, he might have kids, if the woman is older, she might have kids. But for me, I’ve always viewed Trophy Room as my baby. I always wanted to establish my own name, outside of being Michael Jordan’s son. So for me, Trophy Room gave me that opportunity as my business. So I’ve always nurtured it and treated it as my child.”
As RHOM fans may have seen, Larsa sparked rumors of a breakup on social media over the weekend as she asked her followers, “Should your friends unfollow your ex,” and shared a cryptic quote shortly thereafter.
“The man you choose to be your partner affects everything in your life. Your mental health, your peace of mind, your love inside you, your happiness, how you get through tragedies, your successes, how your children will be raised and much more. Choose wisely,” the message read.
Following the couple’s split, Larsa took to her Instagram page to update her bio with a racy pic of herself posing in bed while sporting a peach bra and pantie set.
