Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan have officially split, Page Six can confirm.
Multiple insiders tell Page Six that the Real Housewives of Miami couple broke up due to “tension” in their relationship.
“They’re not together,” a source reveals.
The source adds that Marcus and Larsa “are taking space from each other” due to the “tension” in their relationship.
The tension in their relationship was allegedly “incited” by Marcus’ dad, Michael Jordan, “publicly denouncing it.”
“Marcus said Michael was joking when he said he didn’t approve, but it really mortified Larsa,” the source explains.
On top of that, Michael Jordan’s feud with Larsa’s ex-husband, Scottie Pippen, also created issues for the couple.
“The history between Michael and Scottie made things complicated, even if Larsa and Marcus did their best to make it a non-issue,” the insider explains.
The source notes that “family comes before everything” for both the RHOM star and Marcus.
“At the end of the day, Michael is Marcus’ dad and Scottie is the father of Larsa’s children,” the source says.
Larsa and Scottie share children Scotty Jr., 22, Preston, 21, Justin, 18, and Sophia, 14,
“There is a baseline loyalty for each of them that made the relationship difficult to navigate,” the insider adds.
A second source, close to the couple, denies this claim, noting that Marcus and Larsa’s split “has nothing to do with any family input, but solely for their personal growth.”
“They have decided to take some time apart to reevaluate their relationship,” the second insists.
A third source close Real Housewives of Miami production says the Miami Housewives are “surprised” by the breakup.
“No one saw this coming,” the third source admits of Larsa and Marcus’ breakup. “It really seems like a sudden decision. There was no hint that there was trouble in paradise.”
The source adds that Larsa has yet to reach out to her RHOM co-stars, with the source pointing out that “the ladies have a lot of questions.”
“They seemed so in love. If they got back together, it wouldn’t surprise anyone,” the source shares.
Over the weekend, the Real Housewives of Miami star sparked split rumors when she unfollowed and removed all photos of Marcus from her Instagram page.
Larsa Pippen also shared a poll on her Instagram Story asking followers: “Should your friends unfollow your ex?”
She further fueled split rumors by posting a cryptic quote to her Instagram Story.
The quote read:
“The man you choose to be your partner affects everything in your life. Your mental health, your peace of mind, your love inside you, your happiness, how you get through tragedies, your successes, how your children will be raised, and so much more. Choose wisely.”
Marcus and Larsa began dating in 2022 after meeting at a Los Angeles party in 2019 and becoming close friends.
Initially the two denied dating rumors when they were first spotted out together in October of 2022.
“We saw each other at a party, and we did kind of look at each other. We were intrigued by each other, but we were just friends for a long time,” she told Us Weekly in January of how her relationship with Marcus blossomed from friendship to romance. “We ended up exchanging numbers and we spoke for three years just as friends. He would FaceTime me when I would be on dates. I would FaceTime him when he was [on dates]. We were just friends.”
By January 2023, Larsa and Marcus confirmed they were dating after being photographed kissing in Miami Beach, Florida.
This news of Larsa and Marcus’ split comes just a month after the two discussed getting engaged while appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
On a January episode of WWHL, the RHOM couple recently revealed that Marcus did give Larsa a “promise ring” and that they have been “shopping” around for engagement rings.
That same month Larsa also told Us Weekly that she was keeping an open mind about possibly welcoming a baby with Marcus in the future.
“I’m really happy with my four kids, but I feel like it wouldn’t be fair for me to not give Marcus that opportunity if we wanted to have kids [together],” the RHOM star admitted on January 11. “So, I do have a little insurance policy in a freezer in L.A. just in case.”
The Real Housewives of Miami airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
