Episode 1 of the new Korean variety show Apartment 404 arrived on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, February 23, 2024. The show has a star-studded cast of six, including Blackpink member Jennie, Running Man’s Yang Se-Chan, and Yoo Jae-Suk and actors Lee Jung-Ha, Cha Tae-Hyun and Oh Na Ra.
In Apartment 404, episode 1, viewers see a dramatization of a true incident that happened in 1998 in South Korea. It is a case of an apartment, taking place at the time of the apartment’s construction. Two construction company employees found gold bars at the construction site. One of them escaped with the gold and hid it somewhere. The goal of the cast in the episode is to find the secret of the apartment.
However, they have no idea that two cast members are playing the role of the two construction company employees who know about the gold.
Apartment 404 Episode 1: Which construction company employee successfully escapes with gold?
Episode 1 of Apartment 404 begins on an exciting note. The cast, including Jennie, Yang Se-Chan, Yoo Jae-Suk, Lee Jung-Ha, Oh Na Ra, and Cha Tae-Hyun, meet and start their quest. They arrive at the apartment in two teams: “Team Actors” and “Team Entertainers”. Team Actors include Cha Tae-Hyun, Lee Jung-Ha, and Oh Na-Ra. Meanwhile, Team Entertainers include Jennie, Yoo Jae-Suk, and Yang Se-Chan.
At first, in Apartment 404 episode 1, both the teams go to the apartment, and they are given keys to their rooms. They first have to find out what is the secret of the apartment. They learn from the news on the radio that while working at the construction site, two employees found something hidden under the ground.
After arriving at the apartment, they see a dramatized form of the construction site. From there, they realize that they have to find out what is the object that was found at the construction site. The two teams then play games to win clues. In the first game, “Team Entertainers” win and receive a videotape, along with their food items.
The losing team, Team Actors, gets ramen. However, they also get a clue along with the ramen packets. Through that clue, they first realize that the construction workers found gold in the ground. Later on, the winning team, Team Entertainers, also learned about it. Now, the task is to find that gold. They play another game, and Team Entertainers win again. They now know that the gold is in the bathtub of room 406, which Team Actors occupy.
However, in episode 1 of Apartment 404, Jennie from Team Entertainers reaches the bathtub of room 406 by using strategies, but to her surprise, the gold is missing from there. Then the show reveals that the two cast members are playing the roles of the two employees of the construction company. The first employee is Cha Tae-Hyun from Team Actors. He has already collected the gold and kept it safely.
Then, the show discloses that the other employee is Yang Se-Chan from Team Entertainers. At the end of the episode, Yang Se-Chan successfully steals the briefcase full of gold from Cha Tae-Hyun. He then escapes the apartment building with gold within the given time and wins the game of episode 1.
