November 14-16 Box Office Recap – ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ opens with a solid $21M domestically and $75.2M worldwide. ‘The Running Man’ flops with just $16.4M domestically and $27.6M worldwide, against a $110M budget. ‘Predator: Badlands’ collapses a steep 68%, but crosses $130M worldwide.

Love Alarm is a popular K-dramas starring Song Kang and Kim So-Hyun. The second season premiered on March 12, 2021 on Netflix. The storyline of the show received a lot of appreciation from the audience as it revolves around love and friendship. The chemistry between Song Kang and Kim So-Hyun, who plays Hwang Sun-Oh and Kim Jojo in the first season created a buzz among everyone.

However, it’s the ending of Love Alarm in season 2 that becomes more relatable to the audience. Season 2 picks up where Season 1 ended. The storyline follows a dating app named Love Alarm which made its initial launch in 2019 and the audience was introduced to a love triangle between Hwang Sun-Oh (Song Kang), Jojo (Kim So-Hyun), and Lee Hye-Yeong (Jung Ga-Ram). After going through a heartbreak Jojo creates a shield on her app. Now, she can’t ring anyone’s alarm. So, what happens to Sun-Oh, Jojo, and Hye-Yeong? Let’s dive in to know more about the ending of the show.

Does Netflix’s K-drama Love Alarm have a happy ending?

In season 2, Jojo learns about Lee Hye-Yeong’s love for her, and because of him, she starts to understand what is it to love someone deeply. Jojo then confronts Sun-Oh. She apologizes for putting up the shield but also declares that she doesn’t regret it as it gave her a new perspective to experience. Sun-Oh understands her point of view and says it’s not her fault that she doesn’t feel the same as he does. Later, they both move on in their life.

But that does not make Jojo run to Hye-Yeong instantly. She takes her own time to decide what she wants to do in her life. She decides to go for a marathon which makes her let go of her traumatic past and burden. Jojo then meets a happy Hye-Yeong and gets her happy ending with him.

On the other hand, Hye-Yeong and Sun-Oh, who drifted apart from each other because of Jojo, find their closure too. They conclude that even though they cannot go back to their brotherhood and beautiful friendship, there won’t be an ill-fated relationship between them. They also move on in their lives.

Furthermore, Sun-Oh and Yuk-Jo’s love story shows a new beginning. In the end, he realizes he has feelings for her and starts coming to her apartment to see if she’s around. When Yuk-Jo returns from her trip, she sees Sun-Oh as he is about to leave by pressing the doorbell. He explains how he will come every day until he rings her alarm.

Love Alarm is not only about love and friendship. The series also has another aspect. Quite a lot of mysterious murders start to pop up in connection to the dating app.

In the last episode of season 2, Kim Jojo gets approached by a stranger who knows that she’s the one behind the artwork of ‘The Ringing World’. When he approaches the second time, police catch him and identify him as the killer who chooses his victims in respect to the artwork of ‘The Ringing World’. He’s the sole survivor of the mass suicide that happened because of Love Alarm as their alarm didn’t rung.

However, soon after the arrest, Jojo has to go to the police station to explain her art page ‘The Ringing World’. She describes how her page is nothing of a blueprint for anyone to commit a crime. It is her life story that she portrays through her paintings. She expresses how she survived her family’s suicide. This clears up a lot about her past trauma shown in season 1.

Love Alarm can be streamed on Netflix.
