Megan Fox is defending her decision to drink “a few drops” of her “soulmate” MGK‘s blood. Fox says she doesn’t see anything wrong with her and Machine Gun Kelly sipping on each other’s blood. In fact, the 37-year-old actress asks critics, “What’s so gross about what I did with my soulmate?”

During a recent episode of the ‘Call Her Daddy‘ podcast, Megan Fox addressed backlash received when she decided to take a blood oath with MGK during their engagement. As a refresher back in 2022, Fox told Glamour UK that she and her man drank “a few drops” of each other’s blood “for ritual purposes only.”

Reflecting on the “misunderstood” decision and backlash, Fox recently told ‘Call Her Daddy‘ podcast host Alex Cooper, “Everything is a matter of what you’re accustomed to or what is currently socially acceptable or normal.” Speaking on the blood-drinking, Fox said that she looked at the gesture between her and MGK as something “innocent.” She even compared their blood oath to something young boys would do to become “blood brothers” with their closest friends.

Fox said, “That’s not satanic, right? That’s normal and that’s cute and sweet. That’s an innocent … little bond between kids who love each other, and they have a pure friendship It’s like that, except instead of rubbing your fingers together, the drop of blood goes in your mouth.”

Megan Fox insisted that swapping blood and blood-drinking with her “soulmate” MGK isn’t as gross as other things that other couples do. She said, “I think it’s weird that girls are letting guys c*m in their mouth and they don’t know these guys. So f**k you, you’re so offended that I got a drop of Machine Gun Kelly’s blood in my mouth. Honestly, though, it’s a matter of perspective. What is so gross about what I did with my soulmate?”

While mentioning her Pentecostal background, Fox shared a disclaimer, “I’ve never been part of a satanic ritual.” She further clarified that she doesn’t even “know of any people who have been a part of a satanic ritual.” Fox even added that she doesn’t know if the Illuminati is real, claiming she hasn’t “been asked to join.” Whether it’s real or not, Fox affirmed, “I’m not a satanist or any kind of an evil witch.”

Also during the conversation, Megan Fox spoke about her and and her “soulmate” MGK calling off their engagement in 2023. She said despite no longer being engaged, she and her “soulmate” are still “tethered.” She explained, “I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se. What I can say is [he] is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul’ and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what.”

The two began dating in March 2020, announced their engagement in January 2022, and sometime during 2023, they called off their engagement while figuring out their relationship. Meanwhile, a source recently told PEOPLE, “One day they’re up, the next they’re down. That intensity is still there nearly four years into their relationship, but that’s not necessarily ‘healthy.’”

The source added, “There are still a ton of trust issues between them and it’s very toxic. They can’t stay away from each other and there’s a lot of history there, but they also don’t know how to be in a healthy relationship. They’ll be totally fine, then days later get into a huge blowout fight and not talk for weeks, but then give in and be all lovey-dovey again.”

Speaking on the engagement, the source said, “They never picked back up wedding plans or even got to a place where they could think about really getting married. It doesn’t seem like either wants to give the other up, even though they both know it’s not healthy.”
