It looks like a new video game tied to The Matrix film franchise might be in development. Since the film franchise launched in 1999, we’ve seen a few video games made. The 2003 game Enter The Matrix was my favorite. That game was awesome!
According to X user @Kurakasis on social media, who has shared several accurate leaks in the past, developer NetEase Games is said to have been working on this new The Matrix game. Apparently, the project has been in the work since before the release of the last movie, The Matrix Resurrections.
The insider goes on to claim that the game was codenamed “Awake”, but also notes that they’re not sure if it’s still in development or if the game has been scrapped.
With so much time having passed since the last film, I’m not sure if the game would still be in development. However, I’d be open to playing an awesome new Matrix game! We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
