“Kill Thy Neighbor” is an episode of Kill or Be Killed on Oxygen that will delve into the murder of 53-year-old Anna Weed, who was shot by her neighbor Hector Campos. It will air on Oxygen on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET.

Campos and Weed had reportedly been neighbors for a long time. However, on January 24, 2017, Hector Campos, 43, fatally shot Anna Weed, who stood with her dog in her front yard, in the 3400 block of Mourning Dove in Spring. After he was charged with the murder and arrested, the court found him guilty of the murder and sentenced him to 45 years in prison, ABC 13 reported.

Per Fox 26, a neighbor reportedly witnessed the shooting and ran over to help Anna Weed. Campos was allegedly washing a truck in his driveway when Weed’s dog got away and began barking at him. Weed was wrapping a gift for her grandson and had a roll of tape in her hand. However, after his arrest, Campos told the police that he feared she would attack him and wrap a length of the tape around his neck to choke him. He alleged to have killed her in self-defense.

CBS News reported that Hector Campos claimed Anna Weed attacked him with a “two-handed shove.” His attorney also accused Weed’s children of prolonged verbal harassment towards Campos over the past few months. He further described that Campos’s life had been on a “downward spiral” ever since his wife and child “vanished” on their trip to Mexico. The outlet also noted that he was briefly released from jail on a $50,000 bond before the trial.

Why did Hector Campos kill Anna Weed?

ABC 7 reported that Anna Weed had helped Hector Campos’ estranged wife during the couple’s divorce proceedings and custody battle. Prior to the abuse, Campos’s wife was reportedly abused for years and did not let his wife leave the house. Moreover, he was angered when Weed drove her and their 11-month-old daughter to the airport to travel to Mexic, reported Fox 26.

According to the Harris County District Attorney, right before the murder, Anna Weed and Hector Campos were allegedly arguing about where his wife and child. The argument heated up, and Weed’s dog began barking at Campos when he tried to kick the dog. He then shot Weed in the chest with a handgun. A neighbor then ran over to the scene and held Campos at gunpoint until authorities arrived.

Since his divorce, Anna Weed and Hector Campos allegedly did not get along well. They had a history of disagreements before he shot her down. Weed was reportedly alive when relatives and neighbors found her and were trying to administer first-aid, reported People Magazine.

Kill or Be Killed episode “Kill Thy Neighbor” will focus on Anna Weed’s murder at the hands of Hector Campos. The episode will air on Oxygen on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
