No, Seth Meyers Has Not Been Not Fired From NBC

According to Deadline, Past Lives star John Magaro and The Fabelmans’ Jeannie Berlin have been tapped to join The Bride! cast for the upcoming horror thriller, which hails from actor-turned-filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Details about their respective characters are still being kept under wraps, but they are expected to play supporting characters. They will be joining previously announced cast members Christian Bale, Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, Jessie Buckley, Annette Bening and Julianne Hough. The film is currently slated to debut in theaters on October 3, 2025.

What to expect in The Bride!?

“The film sees a lonely Frankenstein travel to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself,” reads the synopsis. “The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”

Based on Mary Shelley’s classic gothic novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, The Bride! will be directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is also producing alongside Talia Kleinhendler, Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Osnat Handelsman-Keren. This marks Gyllenhaal’s second directorial project following 2021’s The Lost Daughter, which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Besides Gyllenhaal, Guillermo del Toro is also currently directing another Frankenstein-centered movie, which will be led by Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Jacob Elordi.
