Courtney Love Trends After Coming For Taylor Swift, Madonna And Beyonce — “I Just Don’t Like [Beyonce’s] Music” • Hollywood Unlocked

Whew! Has Courtney Love been sipping on a little Hater-aid or just keeping it real? that’s what some social media are currently debating online. In a recent interview with The Standard, the musician sure didn’t hold back when sharing her thoughts on some of the biggest names in the music industry. Of course her comments quickly sparked a social media frenzy, with fans and critics weighing in on her interesting remarks.

While speaking with The Standard, Love came for a range of female artists including Taylor Swift, Madonna, Lana Del Rey, and even Beyonce! She questioned Swift’s artistic skills, labeling her as “not important” and drawing comparisons to Madonna. “Taylor is not important,” the singer said to the outlet. “She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.” Speaking more on dislike for Madonna, she added: “I don’t like her and she doesn’t like me,” Love said.

When it came to Beyoncé, Love said she’s not here for the icon’s latest album, “Cowboy Carter.” However, she stated that she liked the significance of her latest project which symbolizes “Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed.” Love went on to admit that the music itself didn’t resonate with her before confessing, “I just don’t like her music.”

Just when we thought that was a lot, Lana Del Rey also found herself in Love’s crosshairs, with the rockstar suggesting that the singer take a hiatus from music. “I think she should really take seven years off,” she said while noting that she hasn’t enjoyed Lana’s music “since she covered a John Denver song.”

“Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ I thought she was great,” Love said. “When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much.”

Throughout the interview, Love shared more of her feelings about the state of music industry:

“It’s great that there are so many successful women in the music industry, but lots of them are becoming a cliché,” she said. “Now, every successful woman is cloned, so there is just too much music. They’re all the same. If you play something on Spotify, you get bombarded with a lot of stuff that’s exactly the same.”

Of course, Love’s outspoken commentary has ignited debates. While her remarks have stirred controversy, they have also prompted discussions about female representation in music.
