Marvel Studios has cast Ralph Ineson (Harry Potter, The Witch, The First Omen) as the main villain Galactus in The Fantastic 4.

I love this casting choice! This guy is a great actor and he has an awesomely menacing voice that will be perfect for Galactus! This is an exciting casting choice!

The news comes right after it was announced that John Malkovich was cast in the movie. We don’t know who he’s playing, though.

The rest of the cast includes Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch; and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher, The Bear) as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

Paul Walter Houser also recently was cast in the project in an unknown role, and Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna) will take on the role of Shalla-Bal, who is an incarnation of Silver Surfer.

WandaVision’s Matt Shakman is directing the movie. He previously teased that this movie is going to be very different than anything we’ve seen in the MCU yet saying: “It’s different in so many ways. I wish I could be specific.”

He added: “I wish I could say more. But we are doing things very differently from a story standpoint, from an approach to the filmmaking standpoint, that really fits the material. I wish I could say more. I would love to, but I can’t. But I think it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen before, and certainly unlike anything at Marvel that you’ve seen before.”

Marvel producer Stephen Broussard previously promised that the film will be a true celebration of the original source material from the comics: “One of the founding principles of Marvel, going back to Iron Man and the casting of Tony that I think has resonated through today, is to embrace the source material and these comics that have been around forever.”

He added: “They’re older than me, and I’m guessing they’re older than you too. They’ve been around for a while for a reason, [so we] lean into that.”

The movie is set in the 1960s, and the screenplay comes from Josh Friedman, who was brought in to rewrite the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

The movie will start shooting mid-summer in England.
