Jax Taylor said The Valley doesn’t need cast members from Vanderpump Rules amid a report that stars from the original show are transitioning to the spinoff. He also seemed to shade his current co-stars Nia and Danny Booko.
Around the same time, Lala addressed the temporary Pump Rules hiatus—as well as the allegation that she bought a house in the Valley to position herself for the new show.
On a recent episode of his When Reality Hits podcast, Jax asked his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright who she’d like to see on The Valley next season.
But before she answered, he shut down the idea of anyone from the original show.
“Not from Vanderpump Rules,” said Jax, via Us Weekly. “I personally don’t think we need to bring anyone from Vanderpump Rules over.”
Brittany then disagreed, explaining that “Scheana [Shay] and Lala are my closest friends outside of this group.”
But Jax held firm to his opinion.
“I’m not trying to make this Vanderpump Rules,” said the star. “As of right now, that is a no. It is a hard no. But who knows, it could change. If we have parties, absolutely … But this is The Valley, this is not an extension of Vanderpump Rules. I’m really proud of our show and I think it isn’t fair for our cast members after they worked so hard to [just] bring people over.”
On her Give Them Lala podcast, Lala addressed speculation that she’s moving over to The Valley – and she mentioned the report that Pump Rules will take a break from filming this summer.
“As you guys know, we’re not filming. And contrary to what the internet says, I’m very happy about it, OK?” she said. “There was, like, a thing Brittany showed me running to The Valley. [The article said], ‘Lala is hearing that there’s no more Vanderpump Rules this summer.’ And I’m booking it.”
“Let me be very clear. I bought my house in the Valley because it’s all I could afford. I would have liked to have been in the Beverly Hills Flats, b**ch,” the star continued. “But I can’t afford it. I did not move to the valley because I want to be on The Valley. I moved there because that’s what I could afford.”
In an Instagram comment shared by @bravoandcocktails_, Jax seemingly shaded his castmates Nia and Danny after a fan called them “the cutest couple on TV.”
“We’ll see how this ages…” wrote Jax.
