The latest Malayalam romantic comedy, Premalu, broke several records at the box office and on OTT. The movie was dubbed in various languages following its massive popularity. Mamitha Baiju played the leading lady in the film and portrayed Reenu opposite Naslen’s Sachin. Her acting skills have impressed many filmmakers, and reports of her being offered many Telugu movies are making rounds. The latest one suggests that she is in talks to star opposite Vijay Deverakonda.
Mamitha Baiju in talks for VD12?
FilmiBeat has reported that the makers of VD12 have been looking for female leads for a while now. With Sreeleela taking a break from movies and several other actresses busy with projects, they did not finalize anyone. Moreover, they could not consider Mrunal Thakur and Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the project as they have already worked with Vijay Deverakonda.
The report further claimed that the makers have settled on two names for the part. In addition to Bhagyasree Borse, Premalu actress Mamitha Baiju’s name has been mentioned. Allegedly, Mamitha Baiju has been almost cast in the movie, and an official announcement regarding the same is awaited.
Gowtam Tinnanuri is directing VD12, which marks the 12th project of Vijay Deverakonda’s career. Per the movie’s official poster, the actor will play a cop role in the alleged action film. On the Arjun Reddy star’s birthday, the makers revealed that VD12 is currently in production. Their note read, “We are currently shooting a massive schedule in and around Visakhapatnam. This is the most ambitious project for all of us involved. We can’t wait to share a sneak peek with you all very soon.”
On the other hand, Mamitha Baiju’s popularity is reaching new heights. The actress has been praised a lot for Premalu. Allegedly, projects have been flooding since the movie’s success for Mamitha, and she has been looking forward to exploring different cinemas.
