According to Deadline, Emmy winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) has signed on for the leading role in Kenneth Branagh‘s next directorial feature, The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde.

Described as a contemporary psychological thriller, The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde will be written and directed by Branagh. This serves as the acclaimed filmmaker’s first original story since 2021’s Belfast, which won him his first Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The film will be produced by Tamar Thomas, Laura Berwick, Becca Kovacik, Matthew Jenkins, Ashley Fox and Johnny Pariseau.

Comer’s Upcoming Projects

The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde will be added to Comer’s long list of upcoming movies, including Focus Features’ The Bikeriders which will have its theatrical release this coming June 21. She has also been tapped for one of the leading roles in Danny Boyle’s long-awaited horror sequel 28 Years Later, which will also be led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes. At the moment, it remains unclear if the sequel cast would also star in the rest of Sony Pictures’ planned trilogy.

The Free Guy star was also recently cast to star opposite Hugh Jackman in Michael Sarnoski’s The Death Robin Hood movie, which is being described as a dark reimagining of the classic English folklore. As for her potential return to television, Comer is still currently attached to HBO’s Adam McKay-produced sex therapy series The Big Swiss, after two years since the project’s development was first announced.
