THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR on the Big Screen Was an Absolute Blast! — GeekTyrant

The upcoming horror-thriller film Longlegs looks like it going to deliver a dark, twisted, and disturbing story. I’ve enjoyed the crazy trailers that have been released as they do a great job of teasing the tone of the film without revealing much about the story.

We haven’t even seen a full look at Nicolas Cage’s occult serial character in the movie! They are saving that for the people who go out and watch the movie.

Longlegs director Oz Perkins recently talked about Cage in the film and teased that the actor is unrecognizable. It’s going to be really interesting to see what cage does with this role.

Perkins said: “We derived the voice of the character, the look of the character, the attitude. What references is Nic going to use in terms of people in his life or other actors? He’s very upfront that he pulls from other people a lot. So which other person is he going to do?”

He continued: “By the time he gets to the set he’s unrecognizable. He doesn’t sound like himself, he doesn’t walk like himself. So you have this element, like wind or fire, but it’s Nicolas Cage as your character.”

The cast also includes Maika Monroe (It Follows) as Lee Harker, a gifted new FBI agent assigned to an unsolved serial killer case.

In the film, “As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”

Longlegs is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers,” and early reviews have compared it to the classic ’90s thriller The Silence of the Lambs.

The movie was written and directed by Oz Perkins (Gretel & Hansel) and it’s set to be released on July 12th, 2024.
