Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has surpassed Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part 2 and is now the highest-grossing movie of 2024.

Inside Out 2 has grossed $724 million at the global box office against a budget of $200 million. Dune: Part Two pulled in $711 million globally at the box office against a budget of $190 million.

It’s being predicted that Inside Out 2 will become the first movie of 2024 to earn $1 billion worldwide, and it’s looking like that’s very possible.

I loved Inside Out 2! It was another fantastic film from Pixar and it told a story that I could very much relate to on a lot of different levels. From raising teenage girls to managing anxiety.

I’m still so impressed with how the creative team handled the story and how the film perfectly visualized what anxiety is.

In the sequel: “The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out—but next summer, everything changes. Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions!

“Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.”

The movie was directed by Kelsey Mann and it stars Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust, as well as Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, and Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui.

Inside Out 2 is currently in theatres everywhere.
