John Fuda, the husband of RHONJ star Rachel Fuda, was arrested for his involvement in a violent home invasion in 2008.

John Fuda‘s checkered history with the law goes well beyond selling pot in high school.

A recently uncovered news article reveals that John Fuda, then 20, was arrested in 2008 for a violent home invasion that left “five victims bound with duct tape at gunpoint.”

However, the RHONJ husband was never convicted.

New Jersey’s The Herald-News published an article on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008, regarding the crime that took place in Passaic, New Jersey.

The headline read: “Three Arrested In Home Invasion: Cops say victims bound with tape at gunpoint.”

The article then went on to share details of the crime.

“Five people were bound with duct tape at gunpoint during a home invasion on Portland Avenue Monday night, police said. Three suspects were caught in neighboring Passaic, but police said they believe four more are at large. Johnathan Datria [now John Fuda], 20, of Elmwood Park,” the article read.

D’Atria and two others “face charges of robbery, theft, and unlawful possession of a gun and drugs. The three are being held in the Clifton municipal lockup on $250,000 bail with no 10 percent option.”

“At 11 pm Monday, seven people inside two cars pulled up to an apartment on Portland Avenue, where two 24-year-old roommates were entertaining three female guests. Clifton Police Department Captain Robert Rowan said. As three people kept watch outside, the intruders kicked in the door of the apartment and rushed in, brandishing guns. The suspects allegedly ordered all five victims to get down on the kitchen floor, where they were bound with duct tape.”

“The suspects then demanded one of the male residents to tell them the location of a stash of drugs and money. When the victim did not cooperate, the suspects pistol-whipped and kicked,” the article concluded.

John Fuda has previously addressed his past brushes with the law and chalked it up to youthful ignorance.

“I was never convicted, and charges were dismissed,” John said on RHONJ.

He also has denied that he changed his name from Johnathan D’Atraia to John Fuda in an attempt to hide his past crimes.

“Some of the online trolls tried to twist this information, stating this was the reason why I changed my name,” he said, insisting that his name change had nothing to do with his past arrests. “My last name is Fuda because after my parent’s divorce when I was a baby, my mother had immense support from her side of the family.”
