Guillermo Del Toro Denounces AI in Filmmaking

Last night at Comic-Con, I took the opportunity to go out and watch Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine in a theater packed with hardcore fans, which is the best way to watch a movie like this! The energy was electric and everyone was having a freakin’ blast watching the movie.

Leading up to the screening, my excitement was through the roof. However, as the reviews started rolling in, I got a better idea of what to expect and they lowered my expectations a bit before stepping into the theater. There’s nothing wrong with going in with tempered expectations!

From the opening scene, Deadpool & Wolverine locked me in and took me on a bonkers and insane ride! It was a wildly fun movie that delivered exactly what I was hoping for!

The film is packed with hilarious humor, badass action, blood & guts, and the kind of irreverent antics that we all expect from Deadpool. I just found myself laughing out loud throughout the movie. But, the movie is also filled with heart and a surprising amount of emotion, which I appreciated.

The film had a strong balance of humor, insanity, and soul. It was clear that everyone in the theater was having an absolute blast! That said, the movie isn’t without its flaws.

While the overall story was engaging, I felt that some aspects could have been more developed. I would have liked to see the story and some of the characters fleshed out a little more. I think 20 to 30 minutes could’ve been shaved off the film and reallocated to deeper character development for some additional characters who are played with

One of the other exciting elements of Deadpool & Wolverine is the abundance of cameos. The movie is chock-full of surprise appearances, but there’s one cameo in particular that was my favorite part of the movie, it’s a real showstopper. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but you’ll know it when you see it.

I loved all of the cameos though! It was so much fun seeing so many characters get packed into this movie, but not all of the rumored cameos made the cut. This didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment, though, as the ones that did appear were more than satisfying.

Director Shawn Levy did a spectacular job with this movie. He and his team managed to create a wild, chaotic, and thoroughly enjoyable MCU film that’s true to the spirit of Deadpool.

The action sequences are top-notch, the violence is satisfyingly over-the-top, and the crude humor is exactly what fans of the franchise have come to expect and love. It’s clear that Levy had a lot of fun making this movie, and that joy translates to the audience.

Deadpool & Wolverine is a movie that every Marvel fan will want to see. I don’t need to tell you to rush out to the theaters because I know you already have your tickets. So instead, I’ll just say this: enjoy the ride. This movie is a rollercoaster of awesome fun!
