On Friday (August 2), Zac Efron was rushed to the hospital in Ibiza, Spain after being found in a swimming pool in distress. However, he has since been released and his rep said that “he is fine,” according to TMZ.

The site reported that a rep for the actor revealed that on Friday evening, he was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure after he experienced what they claimed was a “minor swimming incident” at a villa in Ibiza.
After being examined at the hospital, a rep told the site that the 36-year-old ‘High School Musical’ actor was released from the hospital on Saturday morning (August 3). They stated that he was recovering just fine after this “swimming incident.”
The site revealed that sources with direct knowledge told them that Efron was found inside the swimming pool at the villa by two people who worked at the resort. They were the ones who discovered him “in distress” and pulled him out of the water.

However, when the site again inquired about the actor’s status and why he was rushed to the hospital, they were again told that it was “purely a precautionary measure.” Additionally, Zac Efron’s rep did not reveal what exactly caused him to be in distress while swimming in the pool.
When the site tried to further inquire about why Efron was rushed to the hospital if it was only “a minor swimming incident” that he suffered, they claimed the actor’s rep would not respond. However, when the site again inquired about the actor’s status and why he was rushed to the hospital, they were again told that it was “purely a precautionary measure.”
Additionally, Zac Efron’s rep did not reveal what exactly caused him to be in distress while swimming in the pool. The site reports that Zac Efron has been traveling across Europe for a while, making his rounds in Paris, Mykonos, St. Tropez, and now Ibiza over the last month.

Earlier this week, he also joined famed DJ Martin Garrix on stage, during his performance at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club in the Spanish city. In several viral photos and videos, Efron appeared to be living his best life with the DJ and crowd cheering them on.
Leading up to his Europe vacation, Zac Efron has had a busy year, having appeared in ‘The Iron Claw,’ ‘Ricky Stanicky,’ plus his Romantic-Comedy film ‘A Family Affair,’ co-starring Nicole Kidman and Joey King.
Prior to his busy year and recent swimming incident, Zac Efron had also nearly died in a 2013 accident that shattered his jaw. In 2019, he was also airlifted to a hospital in Brisbane, Australia, after he suffered a case of typhoid, which he reportedly contracted in Papua New Guinea while filming his adventure reality series, ‘Killing Zac Efron.’
