Why There Was No New Late Show with Stephen Colbert Episode Last Night?

This week’s retro trailer is for the 1983 sci-fi film Strange Invaders, which centers on Alien beings who settle in a small midwestern town.

The film tells the story of Charles Bigelow, a college professor whose ex-wife Margaret suddenly disappears. Charles’s search leads him to the small, eerily preserved town of Centerville, Illinois, where he discovers that the inhabitants have not aged since the 1950s.

As he digs deeper, he uncovers a bizarre and terrifying secret: the townspeople are actually alien invaders who arrived on Earth decades ago and have been living in disguise, abducting humans and replacing them with duplicates. The aliens are part of a plan to take over the planet, and Centerville is their base of operations.

The film follows Charles as he teams up with Betty Walker, a tabloid reporter who is also investigating strange occurrences linked to the aliens. Together, they unravel the mystery of the alien conspiracy while trying to stay one step ahead of the invaders.

The tension escalates as the aliens, aware of Charles’s investigation, begin targeting him and anyone who comes close to uncovering their secret.

The movie was directed by Michael Laughlin and it stars Paul Le Mat, Nancy Allen, Wallace Shawn, and Diana Scarwid.

Enjoy the trailer!
