Nyong’o updated her Instagram page with two pictures of Boseman. The first was a black-and-white snap of the late actor alone, while the second captured the pair laughing together at an event.

The actress marked Boseman’s 4th death anniversary with a quote, writing: “‘Grief never ends. But it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith. It’s the price of love.’ —unknown.”

“Remembering Chadwick Boseman. Forever,” Nyong’o concluded. Her post received thousands of comments from fans, who similarly paid tribute to the deceased actor. One IG user applauded the actress, declaring, “You are the definition of a true friend even in “death.'”

Fans Flood Boseman’s Last Instagram Post With Tributes

The love for Boseman continued on the final post on his Instagram page. The upload was a tribute from the 43-year-old’s Chadwick Boseman Foundation, which supports the growth of Black storytellers.

The post featured a close-up picture of Boseman and a sweet homage on his posthumously 47th birthday. The caption read: “Our motivation. Our purpose. His guiding light made this world a better place from the minute he set foot on it. Happy born day.”

Fans frequently stopped by the comments to express their love for Boseman, and they did so on his 4th death anniversary. “4 years. Miss you legend,” an IG user wrote, with another sharing:

“Just watched Black Panther again, and it made me miss you. Your influence and talent is missed dearly.“

Nyong’o Shares How Cancer Patient Role Helped Her Process Boseman’s Death

In July, Nyong’o opened up about her role as a terminal cancer patient in the sci-fi thriller “A Quiet Place: Day One.” She shared that embracing the character was terrifying because she had to face her mortality, but it was also “therapeutic.”

“That was daunting to have to go there, psychologically and emotionally,” Nyong’o explained, noting it was more challenging as Boseman’s private cancer struggles came to mind. Nonetheless, embracing the role helped her process his death.

“In the end, it was actually very therapeutic because I had just experienced not too many years ago the death of Chadwick Boseman, which shook me to my core,” the actress told PEOPLE, adding:

“I definitely was thinking about that a lot. What I came to realize is that it’s really important to be reminded of our mortality because then we live life just a little more intentionally.“

The Late Actor Was Posthumously Honored With A Walk Of Fame Star

Two months before the 4th anniversary of his death, The Blast reported that Boseman was immortalized with a prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The news was announced by the organization’s chair, Ellen K.

“The Selection Committee, which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world,” she explained in a statement, noting they chose “very talented people.”

Boseman was honored alongside stars like Gal Gadot, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong, Kerry Washington, Gwen Stefani, Eugene Levy, Mario Lopez, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Christina Ricci, Chris Pine, and more.
