Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes recently demonstrated their enduring friendship at the U.S. Open despite sitting separately during the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Baltimore Ravens.

According to reports, their separate seating arrangements were due to their differing game-day preferences, with no animosity between them.

However, the wife of the Chiefs’ quarterback faced controversy for supporting Donald Trump, and Taylor Swift’s latest actions have now raised eyebrows amongst her fans.

Swift recently joined her boyfriend Kelce and the Mahomes family at the U.S. Open, where she and Brittany Mahomes were spotted warmly embracing, showing no signs of discord.

The group was at the U.S. Open to see if Taylor Fritz could finally end the long winless streak for American men at a Grand Slam.

The recent outing came after the two ladies were spotted sitting in separate suites during the Chiefs’ game against the Ravens, which led many to believe that Swift was avoiding Brittany after she stirred up controversy on social media for seemingly endorsing former President Donald Trump.

The controversy began on August 13, when Brittany liked an Instagram post by Trump outlining his “2024 GOP platform,” sparking online backlash.

Brittany then appeared to address the backlash through her Instagram Stories, writing: “I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

Swift’s decision to show her love for Brittany by hugging her has now become a topic of debate on social media.

It has divided the singer’s fans among those who feel she needs to speak out on her political views and those who believe she can be friends with Brittany without agreeing with her politically.

A post on X reads, “She’s YET to speak out on this election in any way…also did not [say] anything when Trump had AI photos of her in MAGA gear….oh she’s not beating the allegations.”

Another person noted, “I do find it disappointing that Taylor can’t drop Brittany. Like, why is she so loyal to this friendship of ten months.”

However, in defense of the famous singer, an individual commented on X, “When you grow up, you start to understand that your friends and family might have different political views sometimes. [That] doesn’t mean you cut them out of your life. Hope this helps.”

Another said, “They can have political differences but still be friends. People are weird about wanting Taylor not to like her. Growing up, we were told never to discuss politics or religion.”

As reported by The Blast, Brittany followed up her initial response to the backlash with a cryptic post on social media.

She said, “Contrary to the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind.”

“Read that again!” Brittany added before proceeding to like comments that supported her viewpoint.

Trump then thanked the swimsuit model for her apparent show of support, writing, “I want to thank the beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country.”

He added: “With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it is nice to see someone who loves our Country and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!”

According to The Sun, Swift and Brittany opted to sit separately during the Chiefs vs. Ravens game to enjoy different experiences of the NFL opener.

A source explained: “They are very good friends and they were so excited to go to the game, but they had different plans as it happens sometimes.”

The insider continued: “Brittany is a family woman, and Taylor likes to enjoy the game sometimes like it’s a party. They felt like they were in a different vibe for the first game of the season. They did hang out for a bit before and after the game while waiting for Patrick and Travis.”

“But Brittany preferred for the first game of the season to be in a suite with family and the kids, in a bit more of a ‘low key’ vibe. Taylor wanted more of a ‘party and drinks vibe’ for the game and enjoyed it differently.”

The source assured that “there are absolutely zero tensions between them, they love and respect each other a lot, they were just wanting a different kind of vibe for the first game of the season at home.”
