An earthquake measuring a magnitude of 4.7 has hit Malibu and other nearby communities, according to numerous early reports.
The quake, originally reported as a 5.1 but later downgraded, was felt in Hermosa Beach, La Mirada and parts of the San Fernando Valley. The city of Anaheim has reported “no known issues or concerns” at this time.
“We’ve felt a rolling, pronounced earthquake in Anaheim,” the city of Anaheim posted on X. “Early reports put it at 5.1 (subject to change) near Malibu.
“We will monitor reports and facilities with no known issues or concerns in Anaheim at this time.”
