A24 has released the official trailer for Babygirl, the upcoming erotic thriller by director Halina Reijn. The film stars Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as a powerful CEO who begins an affair with a younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson.

What Happens in the Babygirl Trailer?
“I tell you what to do, and you do it,” Dickinson’s Samuel tells Kidman’s Romy before making her drink a glass of milk. Romy and Samuel embark on a passionate affair sprawled across sweaty nightclubs, hotel room floors, and packed bars. The cat-and-mouse relationship threatens to uproot Romy’s personal and professional life.
Kidman’s had an extremely active 2024. It began with a starring role in Lulu Wang’s Prime Video series Expats. The Australian actress then headlined A Family Affair, a Netflix rom-com with Zac Efron and Joey King. In September, Kidman starred in The Perfect Couple, a murder mystery series on Netflix. Before Babygirl arrives in theaters, Kidman will provide her voice for the animated Netflix film Spellbound.
Babygirl also stars Sophie Wilde as Esme and Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas as Jacob.
Reijn writes and directs Babygirl, her first feature film since 2022’s Bodies Bodies Bodies. Reijn produces Babygirl alongside David Hinojosa and Julia Oh. A24 will distribute the thriller.
Babygirl had its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion. Kidman won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress, putting her in contention for a nomination at the 2025 Oscars. Babygirl followed its Venice debut with a screening at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
Babygirl will be released in theaters on December 25, 2024.
