It has been a time-honored tradition for Konami to release a yearly tin for the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. In essence, these tins have served as a second shot for cards released in the last year or so.

Even in the original tins, you got packs from about the last year included instead of the new Mega-Pack model. The 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors is now available as the 2024 tin and if you’d like, you can purchase one from your local OTS/game store for $21.99 although I would not personally recommend it.

I do want to thank Konami for providing me with a tin to open up though and I will say that the physical product is nice. I like the marble-like quality to the silver background and then to have embossed art of Yami Yugi (or Atem if you prefer) and Seto Kaiba literally pops. Then, on the side you have art for 18 of the 50 Quarter Century Secret Rares. The physical tin is clean and I do like it.

Unfortunately, the product overall just feels bad and hopeless. I am currently working on a more detailed article about my problems and potential solutions for the future of tins, but suffice it to say that it is a miracle to get any card that you actually want. On the plus side, card prices on the secondary market have decreased quite a bit with these reprints.

You can watch me open up my tin and show off the Grandopolis card sleeves and game mat which was also recently released to OTS locations for $9.99 for 100 card sleeves and $16.99 for the playmat. I do quite like the accessories overall although I am sad the mat doesn’t have the card zone outlines.
