The channel Adult Swim announced this week at New York Comic-Con that they are locking down two more seasons of their No. 1 rated series, Rick and Morty. With the renewals, fans can expect new episodes through 2029.
The adult animated series, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.
It features the voice cast of Ian Cardoni as Rick and Harry Belden as Morty—beginning in Season 7 following Roiland’s exit — as well as Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke and Harmon, to name a few.
Rick and Morty was the No. 1 comedy across all of cable during seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6, according to Adult Swim, and has received two Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Animated Program.”
“Nobody wants a universe without Rick and Morty,” said Harmon in a statement. “Fortunately, the list of places to go remains infinite.”
Added Marder, “I couldn’t be prouder to have taken this baton pass of a lifetime during Rick and Morty’s fourth season and get us to Season 10. Getting to go beyond that now is such a gift I can’t wait to give our fans. Rick and Morty – a hundred years – forever!”
