I went into Ready or Not 2: Here I Come hoping it would recapture the chaotic magic of the first film, and I’m happy to say it absolutely delivers. This sequel doesn’t just try to repeat what worked, it expands on it in some wild and entertaining ways.

If you loved the first film, this one feels like a natural continuation that cranks everything up while still keeping the heart, humor, and ultra bloody violence intact.

Picking up after the insanity of the first movie, Grace, played once again by Samara Weaving, is thrown right back into another deadly game. This time, the stakes are even higher as she’s pulled into a larger, more dangerous world involving rival families all fighting for control.

Bringing her estranged sister Faith into the mix, played by Kathryn Newton, was a great move. Their dynamic adds something fresh and emotional to the chaos, and I found myself really invested in how their relationship evolves over the course of the film.

What surprised me most is how unpredictable the story is. I thought I had a general idea of where things were headed, but the movie kept throwing curveballs. It constantly shifts gears in a way that kept me locked in from start to finish. I wasn’t just watching for the kills or the madness, I genuinely wanted to see how everything would play out in the story.

Now, let’s talk about the violence because this movie does not hold back! It’s just as savage and bloody as the first one, and in some moments it goes even harder. The kills are creative, brutal, and sometimes darkly hilarious. It’s that perfect mix of horror and comedy that makes the whole experience feel like a twisted bloody rollercoaster ride.

The pacing is another thing the film nails. It rarely slows down, and when it does, it uses those moments to build character and tension rather than dragging things out. The set pieces are awesome, the action feels bigger, and the world-building adds just enough depth without overcomplicating things.

Weaving is once again incredible here. She fully commits to the role, whether she’s covered in blood, screaming in rage, or trying to hold it together.

Newton is a fantastic addition, and the two of them together bring a lot of energy to the film. Their chemistry works, and the emotional beats between them actually land. It gives the movie a bit more weight than you might expect from something this chaotic.

The supporting cast also adds a lot of flavor. Seeing actors like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood pop into this insane world was a blast. They each bring their own weird intensity to the story, making the whole twisted family dynamic even more entertaining to watch unfold.

Then there’s the ending. I honestly didn’t see it coming. I had expectations, sure, but the film took things in a direction that felt satisfying and surprising. It wraps things up in a way that works, and while it doesn’t scream for a third movie, I wouldn’t complain if we got one. I’d absolutely come back for more of this madness!

At the end of the day, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is exactly what I wanted it to be. It’s bigger, crazier, bloodier, and just a ton of fun.

It respects the original while pushing the story forward in interesting and crazy ways. If you’re a fan of the first film, and horror-comedy with sharp humor and over-the-top violence, this one is going to hit the sweet spot.
