The Predator is returning to theaters, with Predator: Badlands arriving Nov. 7, 2025.
The move comes after 20th Century Studios’ Prey was a hit after being released on Hulu. Prey director Dan Trachtenberg is directing Badlands, with Elle Fanning starring. Until now it was unclear if the film would be for streaming for theatrical.
Predator takes the spot of Blade, which Disney has removed from the release calendar. The move is not a surprise, as Blade is currently without a director.
The Marvel Studios film was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, but has hit a number of snags on the way to the screen, including the pandemic, labor strikes and losing two filmmakers. But the studio is intent on making the film, which stars Mahershala Ali as the titular star. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige confirmed his commitment to the project in July, telling Black Tree TV: “For the last few years, as we’ve been trying to crack that movie, the most important thing for us is not rushing it, and making sure we are making the right Blade movie. Because there were some great Blade movies years ago.”
Marvel mainstay Eric Pearson, known for Black Widow and Thor: Ragnarok, is the current writer on the script.
Marvel also claimed several release dates for untitled projects on Feb. 18, 2028, May 5, 2028 and Nov. 10, 2028.
More to come.
