Netflix has released a trailer for another one of their silly Hallmark-style holiday movies. This one is titled Hot Frosty, and in the story, we see a sexy snowman magically brought to life.
The movie stars Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls) as a widow named Kathy who brings the snowman to life. The snowman is played by Schitt’s Creek’s Dustin Milligan.
“Through his naïveté, the snowman helps Kathy to laugh, feel, and love again, as the two fall for each other just in time for the holidays … and before he melts.”
Yep, this is where Christmas movies are going, and the audience for these types of holiday films is huge, so I have no doubt that this is going to be a big hit for Netflix.
The trailer also includes a little nod to Mean Girls where Chabert’s character is shown watching Lindsay Lohan’s 2023 Netflix holiday film Falling for Christmas. She quips, “That’s so funny. That looks just like a girl I went to high school with.”
The movie also stars Joe Lo Truglio and Craig Robinson as a pair of police officers, along with Katy Mixon Greer, Lauren Holly, Chrishell Stause, Sherry Miller, Dan Lett, Matthew Stefiuk, Heleene Lohan Cameron, Allan Royal, Sarah Desouza-Coelho and Bobby Daniels.
Jerry Ciccoritti directed the film from a script written by Russell Hainline. Hot Frosty hits Netflix on November 13.
