Garth Brooks’ Wife Eyeing Relocation Amid Sexual Assault Drama

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are all for a change of scenery as he continues to battle the sexual assault case brought against him.

The American singer and his wife plan to explore another part of the globe and probably pitch their tent in Ireland as their new home.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s decision comes amid his sexual assault lawsuit brought forward by an unnamed woman on October 3, 2024.

The singer explained that their decision to move all the way to Ireland from Nashville was set in motion by Yearwood after a brief visit to the region.

“Actually, [Trisha] is pushing hard for the house in Ireland,” Garth, 62, said in response to a fan who mentioned during his appearance on a program this week. While he has previously expressed his wish to move to the Emerald Isle, according to In Touch, he noted:

“I think this last time [in Ireland,] she just fell head over heels in love with the country. You know, we went over there and played two weekends, so we went on that stint across the country. Everyone was so sweet to her.”

Their relocation plans come after Brooks denied all claims made by the alleged sexual assault victim and filed a lawsuit to bar her from speaking publicly about the allegations.

The lawsuit was filed by a woman who went by the pseudonym Jane Roe at a state court in California on October 3. She accused the “Friends in Low Places” star of raping her during a business trip in 2019.

The plaintiff also mentioned that he repeatedly exposed his genitals, discussed inappropriate sexual fantasies, changed his clothes in front of her on a regular basis, and sent her sexually explicit text messages. In response, Brook’s legal team released a statement denying the story:

“Jane’s] allegations are not true. [Jane] is well aware, however, of the substantial, irreparable damage such false allegations would do to [Garth’s] well-earned reputation as a decent and caring person, along with the unavoidable damage to his family and the irreparable damage to his career and livelihood that would result if she made good on her threat to ‘publicly file’ her fabricated lawsuit.”

Since the lawsuit became public, the recording artist has reportedly not experienced a whiff of peace. The Blast noted that the claims in the lawsuit have left a dent in his spotless record in the spotlight and caused him stress.

“He’s totally convinced he’ll get through this sordid mess, but it’s caused him undue stress. He’s in legal meetings, and the phone is going off 24/7,” a source noted. 

The insider added that Brooks now “has to fend off questions from friends and loved ones. It’s perhaps the most stressful event of his.”

The pressure from the lawsuit also has Brooks showing symptoms of concerning health issues, including elevated blood pressure and physical symptoms like bloating. 

Brooks’ friends are allegedly worried about his pressure, which may make him a nervous wreck.

His ongoing legal battles have also taken a toll on his diet, causing concerns of a relapse on his weight loss journey among his friends and loved ones.

The country singer previously made giant strides, losing over 50 pounds to enable him to give better stage performances and live a healthier life.

With his new reality, insiders have shared that “he’s hoarding food from Trisha, sweets, chips, all kinds of bad stuff that she’d throw out if she saw it.”

The source continued that although he keeps a strong front and is surrounded with enough optimism for a victory, he is still emotionally in an awful place.

The Blast reported that the singer had been tagged a “bully” by the accuser’s attorney for indicating her real name in his amended complaint filing.

“Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a rape victim. With no legal justification, Brooks outed her because he thinks the laws don’t apply to him,” the victim’s legal team argued.

Brooks was accused of being malicious and deliberately revealing her identity “out of revenge and with an intent to harm Ms. Roe, knowing that she was refusing to cower to his threatening conduct, commenced her claims against him as she said she would all along.”

The plaintiff’s attorney indicated their plans to request maximum sanctions and severe punishment against Brooks for his actions. Her legal team also asked the court to seal all legal documents containing the client’s full name, noting:

“Every hour, much less day, that the amended complaint remains on the public docket is severely prejudicing Ms. Roe.”
