Warner Bros. Pictures Sets ‘Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass’ Release Date

This Thursday morning, President Biden delivered remarks from the White House regarding the transition of power following former President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.

In his address, Biden not only congratulated Trump on his win but also emphasized the importance of accepting the election results and ensuring a peaceful transition of power.

“Yesterday I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I assured him that I’ve directed my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition. That’s what the American people deserve.” Biden, who had exited the race back in July, went on to commend Vice President Harris and her team for their tremendous efforts. He noted that she “ran an inspiring campaign and everyone got to see something that I learned early on and respect so much — her character. She gave her whole heart and effort.”

In a string message to Americans, he also reminded them, “You can’t love your country only when you win.”

Harris formally conceded the 2024 election on Wednesday, encouraging her supporters not to lose hope in light of her loss to President-elect Donald Trump. She also urged disappointed Americans to “never give up the fight for our democracy.”

“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for,” Harris said. “But hear me when I say … the light of America’s promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting.”

While speaking at her alma matter Howard University, Harris stressed the importance of accepting the election result, calling it “a fundamental principle of American democracy.”

She added, “I am here to say, while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign,” Harris said. “The fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness and for the dignity of all people, a fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best — that is a fight I will never give up.”

Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president on January 20th during his inauguration.
