In a new YouTube vlog, YouTuber-turned-rapper DDG recalls the birth of his son Halo Granberry — with whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend, singer and actress Halle Bailey — and he also reveals how he wants more kids, doesn’t want multiple baby mamas, and hasn’t moved on from his ex.

While revealing how he felt starting his own family with Halle Bailey and Halo Granberry, DDG said, “It was very, very surreal. I was there through the entire process and I take a lot of pride in that because I know it’s a lot of n***as that AIN’T — and y’all be on my a** when there’s a lot of n***as that AIN’T a part of the process. I pulled my son’s head out of his momma.”
DDG continued, I slept on the couch, everything. It was very, very surreal. The whole situation, the whole moment, couldn’t believe it was real. Taking him home the first day was crazy. It was wild, but it was amazing. Staying in the hospital for 2-3 days, then raising him, him saying his first words, saying, ‘Dada,’ all that stuff. It was a very, very big moment in my life. I feel like that’s for anybody that starts a family.”

DDG went on to say that building a family wasn’t necessarily planned, things happened, his son Halo was conceived, and he “made the decision from there” to move forward with his then-girlfriend Halle Bailey. When asked if he plans to have another kid, DDG said, “Yes. I do want to have another kid. But I will say this — I don’t want to have another kid too far away. Like, I don’t want Halo to be 10 and his little brother is 1. I feel like that defeats the entire purpose of having another kid.”
DDG continued to explain his reasoning, stating, “Me and my brother are hella close because we’re not that far apart in age. Me and my little [are] close, but she is way further [in age]. She’s 6 years younger than me, and me my brother are only 4 years apart, so it’s a little different. I want to have a kid very, very soon — I wouldn’t say very, very soon, but maybe in the next 2-3 years, or so. 4 years max. If I don’t have another kid within the next 4 years, I’m cool with just having Halo.”

DDG also shared that he doesn’t want to have multiple baby mamas. He said, “One thing that I do not want to do is have ‘baby mamas,’ or whatever y’all like to call it. That is definitely not nothing — if I was to have another kid, it definitely would be with the same person. I don’t want to have kids with multiple people. I feel like that’s just too much and I feel like when you do that — especially as a dad — I hate when people say ‘half-brother, half-sister.’ I feel like it’s very disrespectful.”
When asked if he has moved on from his ex-girlfriend and son Halo’s mother Halle Bailey, DDG said, “No, I’m not dating. I haven’t ‘moved on,’ whatever that means in y’all’s sense. I’m just really focused on work — that’s what I be trying to explain to y’all. This week, I done linked with three girls — for work purposes — and I go on TikTok and I see y’all making edits like I’m dating this girl. Y’all don’t even know. I’m just working, bro, that’s it.”
Although DDG hasn’t “moved on” to anyone after Halle Bailey, he did clarify, “I’m just working. Don’t ‘ship’ me with nobody because I don’t plan on dating. I just don’t. I don’t see the point anymore. Just me being honest.”
