I’ve got a bunch of fun stuff here for you to watch for Lucasfilm’s totally radical new series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew for you to watch!
We’ve got two new clips, two new TV spots, and a behnd-the-scene featurette that offers some insight on bringing this Amblin and Goonies-inspired Star Wars series to life for fans.
In the first clip, the young heroes encounter a droid named SM-33 (Nick Frost), who Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) claims as her own once she informs him that she has killed his captain.
The other clip finds the characters attempting to convince Jude Law’s character Jod Na Nawood to return for SM-33, which he is reluctant to do. Nawood may be posing as a Jedi, but he may not be being completely honest with his young companions.
The TV spots offer a bit of new footage and one of them starts off like a retro trailer from the 80s.
The featurette features a good amount of new footage from the series along with interviews with the cast and crew including creator Jon Watts (Spider-Man) and producer Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian) as they talk about the directors that were hired to work on the series.
Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law.
“Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”
The series was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man) and it also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith.
The episodes in the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, and Lee Isaac Chung. The Mandalorian’s Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will executive produce.
The film will stream on Disney+ on December 3, 2024, with the first two episodes.
