‘Chainsaw Man’ Soaring to Surprise No. 1 Finish

The Arcane Season 2 ending has fans buzzing with questions, especially about Jayce and Viktor’s ultimate fate. The emotional conclusion of the series saw Piltover and Zaun uniting against a common enemy. However, what truly happened to Jayce and Viktor remains a mystery. So, did Jayce die while trying to stop Viktor, or did both survive the climactic battle?

Here’s the Arcane Season 2 ending explained.

Arcane Season 2 Ending Explained: What Happened to Jayce & Viktor?

The series finale of Arcane Season 2 reveals a tense showdown between Jayce and Viktor. Their friendship, once strong, crumbles under the weight of their opposing goals. In Episode 6, Jayce kills Viktor in an attempt to halt his use of the dangerous Hexcore.

However, Viktor is resurrected with assistance from Singed and Ambessa. With his new advanced body and determination, Viktor aims to achieve “glorious evolution” by reaching the Hexcore buried beneath the Hexgates.

The final act sees Jayce and Viktor clashing, leaving many wondering if they will die. At the Hexgates, Jayce confronts Viktor, pleading with him to stop. When words fail, the two engage in a fierce fight. Viktor overpowers Jayce and traps his consciousness in a cosmic trance. Before Viktor can brainwash him completely, Ekko uses his device to disrupt Viktor’s plan. This provided Jayce the chance to change Viktor and convince him to destroy Hextech. This will ultimately save many lives, while seemingly Jayce and Viktor will die.

The responsibility of saving Piltover from Viktor was given to Jayce by none other than an older version of Viktor himself. In the previous episodes, when Jayce, Heimerdinger, and Ekko went to the Hexcore at the bottom of the Hexgates, an anomaly transported them to different timelines. Jayce was sent to a Piltover that was destroyed due to Hextech. Here he met Viktor, whose identity was also revealed to be the mage who gave Jayce the Hex stone when he was a child.

At the end of Arcane Season 2, it remains unclear whether Jayce and Viktor died or survived as their fate is not revealed in the aftermath of the battle. However, according to the Direct, a theory going around suggests that Jayce and Viktor have been sent to another timeline, but, nothing is confirmed.
