This is going to ruin the tour — temporarily.
In all seriousness, Justin Timberlake took to Instagram Saturday to cancel his third show of the Forget Tomorrow World Tour, citing a back injury and doctor’s orders to rest. The cancellation is the third in just as many months, coming after an Oct. 8 postponement due to an undisclosed injury (since deleted from Instagram) and Oct. 22 rescheduling of recent shows as a result of bronchitis and laryngitis.
“I’m so sorry Oklahoma City… I have to cancel the show on 12/2. I hurt my back in NOLA and my doctors have instructed me to rest a little bit longer,” he wrote on his Instagram Story, referencing his concert ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend Nov. 25 in New Orleans.
He continued, “Thank you for your support – y’all know I hate doing this,” alongside an emoji of heart hands.
According to Timberlake’s website, audiences will be refunded for the event cancellation. The pop-R&B crooner is scheduled to resume his tour dates Dec. 4, which will feature a stop at Houston’s Toyota Center.
In support of his Everything I Thought It Was album released earlier this year, the Forget Tomorrow World Tour marks the “SexyBack” singer’s return to touring in five years. The venture will continue across the U.S. through 2025, as well as internationally, in such regions as South America, Europe and the U.K. This will include the aforementioned rescheduled dates from Oct. 23 through Nov. 2, which have now been slotted into dates for February.
Speaking to the Oct. 8 cancellation at the time, the former NSYNC member wrote: “I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y’all deserve.”
In September, the pop star entered into an impaired driving plea as part of his DWI charge earlier this year and was sentenced to a fine of $500 and 25 hours of community service.
